Todd, Amy & Natalie Nielsen

Hello everyone. Peanut has been pestering me to post to this blog and so here it is.

When I left Duchesne I spent a long time working in construction operating heavy equipment. About 6 years ago, I joined up with a couple of guys and we have an excavating company that so far manages to pay the bills.

I met my wife, Amy in 1995 and we got married in 2000. She is from California. Our daughter Natalie just barely turned 3.

We currently live in Bountiful where Amy stays home with Natalie.

Hope this covers what I'm supposed to write. See you all soon.

Sandra Swasey (Alred)

Sandra Swasey (Alred), Bryan (18), Tyler (15)
Hello Class of 1987,
A couple years after graduation I married Kirk Swasey, He joined the Navy we spent the first 8 years or so living the military life, we lived in Virgina Beach, and Mississippi, After Kirk left the Military we returned to Utah and moved to Orem, Where I returned to school to become a Dental Hygienist. After Kirk and I Divorced he returned to Duchesne, Me and the kids still live in Orem.
Raising 3 Teenagers by myself is Exciting, to say the lease.
Bryan (18) as you can see just graduated High school this year. He also made the honers role every quarter , he received an achievement in science award. He just left to spend the Summer working in Moab.
Tyler (15) is my sport freak, he races dirt bikes, He has competed in a few competitions and did really well. He also loves to skate board. Because he Loves the outdoors, we have agreed that if he keeps his grades up he can live in Duchesne where he can have all the space he wants to race his bike.
Toni (13) my baby girl, is being the normal 13 year old, I hope both of us makes it pass this stage in her life. I will get some update pictures of her soon, the only question is going to be what color will her hair be this week.
I just sent my laptop to Moab with Bryan, However, I will get on here and check up on the class as often as I can. It is so exciting to see what everyone is doing. I would also love to hear from all my friends, Danen and Stan has my cell phone number. I feel that a class reunion is a fantastic Idea and I am excited it see everyone there.

Hello From The Spencer Family

Hello from Twentynine Palms California, sorry I haven't posted sooner but between my 4 little girls and my wife exspecting our 5th little girl we are a very busy family. It has been fun reading all the postings from everyone.
I thought I would catch you all up on me and what I have been up to.
I work for the County of San Bernardino running heavy equipment, after driving truck for 12 years I finally decided to find a job that allows me to stay at home with my family. Between work, my church callings and my family I have a very busy life, but still find time to watch wwe wrestling and Nascar with my little girls(at the dismay of my wife)Hahahahaha
Next I would like to introduce my Family, the Picture at the top Is of Me and My Little One's From Left to right Is Jessie Lynn our 14 year old, Rebecca Rayna our 3 year old, Dani Grace Our 1 Year old and Michelle Vachon our 7 year old. and the Last Picture Is of me and My Lovely Wife Christina.
I was hoping to attend the reunion but it looks as we may not be able to being that we have a new baby on the way and that happens to be monsoon season out here in the desert and my boss isn't big on giving time off during the rainy season but we might sneak up anyway we will see. I am looking forward to getting back in touch with many I have lost contact with, It has been fun seeing what has gone on in everyone's lives and how they have changed in some cases or not in others. I look forward to blogging with you all soon.
Paul Spencer

Jessup Funny Farm (Lisa Paulson)

I'm not sure if "Jessup Funny Farm" is the most accurate description of our family's state of mind or our livelihood. You decide!
I have been married to my husband Eric for almost 19 years, and we own 250 acres of land in Adamsville (Beaver). We have about 100 dairy cows, 3 ducks ( 1 recently deceased after our foster care meeting, but that's another story). We have a bunny, a few wild cats, and 2 neighborhood dogs that think our home is theirs. We have lots of farm vehicles but never seem to have anything that runs.
Our state of mind stems from a choice we made 3 years ago to learn about foster care. We loved the classes and decided to give it a try. We got a 1 1/2 yr. old boy and his 3 yr. old sister 2 years ago. We had forgotten how hard and fun small children are. These 2 broke us in very fast as they are extremely hyper active, not shy, and outspoken. Things didn't work out for them to return home, so we adopted them last April. They keep us on our toes, and we have learned to not get so embarrased by what they say and do. For instance, the following comments came out of their precious mouths about the people in front of us in the check out line: "Mom, That lady's a jerk, huh?" "Mom, why'd that guy color all over himself?" (Tatooes) They never talk quietly either. Then just before Christmas, foster care said they needed a home for a baby for a short time. We took him and are happy to be adopting him in 2 weeks. He has been sick a lot and broke his arm for his 1st birthday, just as guests were arriving.
So now we are experiencing diapers and bottles with our youngest and driving, planning for a mission and college with our oldest. My husband says he's glad he didn't build our house any bigger, because then I would want more children.
I love my husband and children and am so glad to be a mother. I love being home with the little ones; Although, I am somewhat crazy half of the time. My other children are growing up fast. Ashton will be a Senior next year. Shalisha will be a Sophomore. Jenessa is going into 6th grade. Sharlee is 5 yrs. old. Jayton is 3, and Briston is 1.
I'm not very good with the computer, as you have probably already guessed from my blank messages. So hopefully this will work. If I'm really lucky, I'll figure out how to put this and pictures on the web sight. Danen said this is really easy. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

Lynda (Randolph) Phillips Family

Thanks to the Blog-Master (aka: Danen) and a quick break from what I call work, I can now introduce my family to the Class of 87.

I finally with great reluctance settled back in Utah. I left my heart in Seattle though. Very jealous of Tom right now. I have two great kids.
Brittany is 16, need I say more. Jimmy is 12, basketball is his life.

I work in the Sports and Entertainment industry and at an Elementary. Most of my friends would tell you I work too much, but I enjoy what I do.

If I had to sum up the last 20 years I'd say minus a couple of curve balls thrown my way. I've had a lot more slam dunks.

Life is Good!
Lynda Lou

very old photo
Hello to you all. It has been so great to see your pictures and read about your lives. The blog thing was a wonderful Idea. I have missed y'all (you guys) over the years. All kinds of memories have been flooding back to me the past few weeks. I will be going to the reunion, hope to see you all there.
I have lived in Texas for 22 years now. I've been married to my husband Bob for 13 years. We have 2 children, Kyle is 15 and Taylor will be 11 in July. I have a step son, Jason, he is serving in the Air Force. He and his wife have 2 sweet little girls. Yes, that makes me a grandma!
I'm a stay at home mom and I still make and sell cheese cakes on the side. I've grown older, wiser and wider but other than that I'm still the same.
I've been going back to Duchesne and Fruitland (family) almost every summer for the past 20 years. I have seen a few of you but I have not done well at keeping in touch. Hope to see you soon.

I'm honored to be asked...(Kathryn Hudson)

If the picture is a bit scary, I strongly apologize!

I am a sex columnist (hope that doesn't shock too many people--I'm just being honest) for Gutter Magazine and this was a photo shoot for the first issue. My friend, Jim Lucio, was the photographer and the theme was "Fashion Rehab."

I was pleasantly surprised to find an e-mail in my inbox from Danen. I've missed my days in Duchesne. Even when my folks packed us up and moved to Roosevelt, my heart was back in the crimson hills next to the Strawberry River and Rte 40.

I moved to Baltimore in 1989. Met my ex-husband and went to broadcasting school. Now I'm divorced and working in radio as a voice-over artist and marketing genius. In my free time, I am a writer. I was a newspaper journalist for several years including a stint as a music journalist, but gave it up to take off six months to write for myself before diving back into radio. I'm even working on a book right now.

I don't have kids, but with science and technology--who knows? I guess dating younger men is as close as I need to get to kids, anyway.

I hope everyone is enjoying life and doing well. I have enjoyed looking at the beautiful families and reading the touching stories of everyone's lives. It makes me wonder why I was in such a hurry to leave!

Favorite memories of Duchesne for me include the first time I met Kenny Purdy in the lunchroom of our elementary school. He made me laugh so hard, milk almost came out of my nose. I have fond memories of being chased by Danen and Paul Spencer around the playground--they found bugs and would chase me with them to hear my horror movie star scream. I'll also never forget meeting the Covington sisters and realizing they felt like my own sisters.

It's too bad I couldn't have graduated with you guys--but I do hold you all in my heart. Please feel free to write!

Cindy's update

I'm famous for checking up on my family's website, reading everything new, but not taking the time to post anything because life is so crazy. Same here: it's been fun catching up on everyone, but now it's my turn to post! I've been married almost 17 years, have six kids ages 15 to 5 (including twins), have lived in the southern part of Utah County for the last 13 years, and feel very spoiled to be where I am. I am a mom, and that says it all. This past year I have (1) seen the last of my ten siblings married, (2) reached the point where I can understand why parents finally allow their oldest child to drive (I need another chauffeur!), (3) entered the world of adolescent orthodontia, (4) continued to fool people into thinking I've got the young women's youth program in our ward under control (it's as much work as I ever thought it would be, but I love it), (5) found myself being pulled against my will into actually contemplating using my math degree to rescue the students (mine included) here from the effects of inadequate math instruction. Yikes. When I have time to breathe, I have spent parts of the last several years playing volleyball and basketball, running, growing a garden, working on the backyard, reading my guts out, learning to play the piano, and sewing. I am looking forward to a reunion in Duchesne--my kids haven't been there since my dad retired in 2003 and my family moved away.

Tonilinn's Family

Hello everyone, I thought that I would tell you what I have been up to since we graduated from high school. I moved out to P.A. to get married to my first husband, I was married for 9 years. I have a step son Michael, he is 22 years old, and my son John, he is 18 going on 19. I ended up re-marrying some one else five years later after my first divorce, but that only lasted 4 years. I then ended up moving her to Nevada to be close to my family after being gone 3,000 miles away for over 18 years. I have been divorced for over a year now. I am now taking a break from men for a while, and trying to get my life together. I work at the Manse elementary school running a computer lap top learning center. Besides me working I have a church calling as the primary secretary, and I will soon be going through the temple. I have started playing the piano again, singing, (I kind of gave up the music stuff in P.A.) and I love to crochet. (I have made 113 afagahns through the years.) I hope to be able to make it to the reunion.

Johanna

This is a recent photo taken by my son as I walked out of a restroom.....kids!

I am currently teaching at Montana State University in Billings. I left classroom teaching in 1995 due to receiving a reprimand for insubordination. Go figure! Now I teach preservice teachers and classroom teachers returning for their Master's degrees. I completed my Ph. D. at the University of Utah in 2003.

Hi everyone! (Delena's family)

This is such a good idea! It's so good to see how everyone is doing. It's amazing though how much time has gone by since we graduated. Just a note about my family and I. Robbie and I have 4 kids: Nikki 19, Garth 15, Lexie 12, and Joey 10. Robbie and I have been married 20 years this July. I've been a full time student at USU for 2 years shooting for a bachelors in Respiratory Therapy. My husband is a cattle hauler for a livestock company, and has just started working for the army reserves as a military policeman. I look forward to visiting with everyone!
